Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the most frequently asked questions

Can I register multiple people from my church or family to take the Trauma Training together?

Because of the individual certificate of completion provided, participants should individually register and complete the course to receive a certificate. You are welcome to let others view the trauma training alongside you, but no certificate will be given for non-registered viewers. Note that this training is designed for adults over 18 who are in a parenting, teaching, helping or care-giving role.

Do you have to be a person of faith to benefit from this Trauma Training?

Not necessarily! Anyone will find the information presented about trauma, toxic stress, grief and loss from foster care and adoption beneficial and applicable. The curriculum does include scriptural references and stories that coincide with the scientific research on trauma’s impact and suggested ways of creating healing interactions and environments. It is not exclusively faith-based.

Is this Trauma Training Course approved for Foster/Adoptive Parent Training hours?

Yes, it has been approved by several state licensing agencies for foster parent training hours. But, approval cannot be guaranteed. Please check with your local support worker or licensing agency to receive pre-approval of credit for you specifically. Click here to download the full course syllabus and share it with your agency or provider.

Do you ever offer the Trauma Training for Faith Leaders live?

Yes! Lindy and Krista love to train with groups live via webinar and are occasionally available for in-person, regional trainings. To learn more, contact Krista Petty at kpetty@amkidsbelong.org. A minimum of 20 participants is required for webinars and 50+ for in-person trainings.
